Good Grief...

While watching "Texas Country Reporter" I saw a show about this:

In case you can not reconize what it is...it's Chicken Fried Bacon, you silly. Well I looked on the map and the town with the restaurant that serves this is right on the way to Abilene. So guess where we are having lunch when we travel to Abilene...Snook, Tx. I will let you know how the Chicken Fried Bacon is. You can also order the biggest steaks in Texas there. You order your steak by the pound. Sounds really great to us!!

In other news, I have been sleeping G.R.E.A.T for the past four nights. I go for my EMG test tomorrow. And also out to one last lunch with a dear dear friend before she moves away. It's a sad time, but it also sound like a road trip to me! I can't wait to visit them at their new church. I am hoping that my friend from long ago still goes to the same church and I can somehow contact her. I called the phone number in the church directory but it has been disconnected.

Well WW FINALLY admitted she might have a problem and that she might need therapy. Whatever. She had her husband take me to Hobby Lobby and drop me off so I could go in and buy ALL of our favorite yard that was on sale! Friday they when I was there I bought about half that was there and left about 25 - 30 balls of yarn. I just could not afford to buy it all. Well when she heard that, she wanted all the rest. When I got there today there was only 9 left. The good news is that I was only charged .71 each. The price on them was $1.19! So I felt good about that!
Now we each have about 47,745,293,965 balls of unused yarn. It's not about how much you have, but how cheap you got it....right?

Good News and No News...

Good news and no news. The good news is that my doctor changed up my medication and hopefully I can get my pain under control. She also added a medicine to take at night to help with the arm/shoulder/elbow/hand stuff that is going on. The no news is that she does not know what is going on. She is setting up some test to try and find out. I could have a muscle disease or it could be a full blown case of RA (since it’s in both arms) or it could be more symptoms of the Epstein-Barr Virus that I have. I usually do not like talking about my illness because I do not like to draw attention to myself but sometime I just need all the prayers I can get. Please pray that this is something that can be take care of or controlled with medication. Yikes...I looked on the Internet at muscle diseases and what I saw was scary.

Once again we have another weird connection between MSH and I. We don't know what it is right now. A friend at church told us that her daughter's sister-in-law said she has known MSH for a long time. Until we find out who this person is, it gives us something to try and figure out.

Ta Ta for now!

My Birthday Present and other ramblings

MSH got me the best birthday present. He bought a package of six Astros tickets for Sundays. We are going to a game every other Sunday until the end of September. I love love going to Astros games. We went to the first one this past Sunday. We got there at the end of the 3rd inning because of the going away luncheon for the Nelsons. I really wanted to stay and eat lunch. We stayed until 12:45 and then ran home to change clothes and then we drove to Minute Maid Park. We had to pay $15 to some guy who I really don't thing was from the lot we were in. He gave us a ticket and I looked at the tickets in all the cars we walked past and none were like our ticket. We saw one car that even had a boot on it. But we really did not have a choice. We were worried about our car being there when the game was over. It was and all is well. But I don't think we will do that again. The game was a total loss. We thought the Astros were doing really good by the sound of the crowd when when we were walking in. After we got to our seats, we realized that most of the people there were Cub Fans. Whatever...

Two babies from Alvin were born around the same time and at the same hospital that my cousin's grandson was born. These two babies got some kind of virus while in the hospital and both are very very sick. The virus attacked their heart. One baby is on the heart transplant list. I think this is so sad. It just shows that you never know..

PW (Pioneerwoman) recently had a post about "Change of Plans" you can read it here. This is what she wrote:

How similar is your life now to how you imagined it ten years ago? Twenty years ago? Are you exactly where you imagined you’d be? Or are you constantly asking yourself, “How did I get here?” Do you mourn the unrealized plans in your life? Or are you happy no matter what your circumstances?

She talks about how her life is now compaired to how she thought it was going to turn out. She left the comments open and let people comment about how their life is now compaird to how they had planned it or imagioned it was going to be. Try reading some of the stories. It tells me that most people's lives have not turned out like was thought they would. Some have turned out better and some have turned out much worse then they could have imagined. It was refreshing for me to read through some of the comments. I like what number 156 said...

God does indeed know the plans He has for us, whether they line up with ours or not.

We look at our lives now and I know we could NEVER have imagined how they would be now and how they would turn out. Little did we know what God had in store for us. For the most part we were patiently waiting for his will to be done. I am living my dream come true. I hoped and prayed for a life like I have today. I am blessed beyond anything I could ever have imagined.

My Soapbox

I am not a Weather Expert BUT in the last 18.5 years I have spent about 38,480 hours with some of the best. I have a comment to make about a local TV Weatherman (and I use that term loosely). I usually do not pay attention to what he says. I had gotten a bad impression of him a couple of months ago when we both were at the same event and he was all about the “FANS”. Wanting to sign autographs and get as much attention on himself as he could. I noticed that if people were walking by where he was standing he would call them over and ask if them wanted an autograph. I thought it was creepy.

Anyway, a few weeks ago someone told me they were watching him on TV do his evening forecast and he was talking about a system coming off the coast of Africa. He said “Unfortunately, I don’t think it is going to develop into anything” Key word being “Unfortunately”.....what does that mean? Does he want it to develop into something? Does he want to cause panic? Well, last night we had the news on and this same weatherman (and I use that term loosely) was talking about the tropical systems in the Atlantic, he said... “the way this year is starting to look reminds me a lot of 2005". OH MY GOODNESS...now what does he mean? Does he stop to think about all the people who are watching him who were effected by the storms of 2005? Is he trying to cause even more panic? Last night when he said those words was the VERY last time I will watch him. Period.

OK, now I feel much better!

Perfectly Happy but I still need therapy!

I am perfectly happy with the way my life has turned out. God had an awesome plan for my life (and still does). It could not have turned out more perfectly. I am married to the man I feel like God made just for me. I don't think we could have had the relationship we have today if we had met and married earlier in our life. I am thankful for the timing of everything and the way things have turned out. We are who we are because of our past. I would not change anything and neither would MSH. It's cool because we are totally insynic with each other. I would say that we think the same...but that's not true...Dan thinks way better and way more funnier that I do!

There is no sense in us beating our selves up over the past. It can't be changed. We just have to learn from it. That's why MSH and I have such a great relationship now.
Please pray for sweet Alli. She has had a tough week. She fell and broke her leg and then had to have surgery on it. She can't do anything for herself. Also pray for her Mom and Grandmother who are taking care of her.

Also please pray for CDM1. He is in the process of trying to buy his first house. He has done the research and feels like this is the time for him to jump into the arena of "Home Ownership". I am really proud of him.

Now for all the work that MSH has been doing around the house....oh my, he works non-stop. This week his major project has been to re-build the back fence (along with the work he had to do at the Holly House). Our fence was falling down. Now it is starting to look really good. This weekend we have to get our plywood for the windows bought and cut. Yes, my friends it's that time of the year again. We could have a system in the Gulf in just a few days.

I think I need to go to "Yarn Buyers Anonymous" or get into some kind of therapy. There has to be some support group out there that can help me. Actually my Oriental Sister needs to go with me. She has an addiction as bad as I do. I think we enable each other. Today I was at work and she was driving home from lunch with friends and she "thought" there was a Hobby Lobby on Fairmont in Pasadena. (it's sad that we have to hit stores not in our area) I told her that she must have thought that because a few weeks ago, I "thought" there was one there and I drove up and down for about 5 miles and could not find it, so I (being the smart woman that I am) went home. I offered to look on the Internet and see if there was a Hobby Lobby in the area...and there was just a few miles away. But on a different street. I wished her good luck and we hung up. Later I get a phone call and she has found a great sale on our favorite yard. The conversation goes like this...

She said: The have the yard for 99 cents, do you want some?
I said: Yes
She said: They have the brown twist, how many do you want?
I said: Five
She said: They have twelve, I am buying all of them. The have the pink twist, do you want some?
I said: Sure, how many do they have?
She said: I am buying all of them. They have that blue...
I said: I am not sure which one that is...
She said: I am buying all of them.
I said: Ok, we will divide all of them up tomorrow at work
She: Ok, see ya!

A few months ago we were together at a conference in a different state and while everyone went to happy hour, we did what we love to be best...go to the local Hobby Lobby! We found a great sale and bought tons of yarn! We went back to the hotel and showed everyone and I am sure they thought we were crazy. We are crazy...CRAZY ABOUT GETTING OUR FAVORITE YARN ON SALE!!

Pictures from our vacation

Finally, everything is falling into place. Just pray that it keeps falling into place until everything is setteled. Especially the Holly house.

I am trying to take better pictures. My new camera can take either point and shoot or it has full manual controls. It is a really cool camera and was not that expensive. It has a 18x zoom. I gave up on Sony cameras and am now trying a Nikon. I am going to try and take a photography class someday. I want to take really good pictures. I am proud of some of the pictures I took while on vacation. Here are a few that I think turned out really good:

***See slide show above***

I took out the pictures because I did not like how they looked on the blog.

V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N!!!

We are on vacation. If you want to see what is going on then you need to check out MSH's blog. We are having a blast. I will post the real pictures later.

I am not sure if he mentioned that we have been here for four days and when we got back to the BnB tonight, the owners had come in and cleaned and changed the linens. Best of all they did all of our wash and folded it and put it on the bed for us!! AWESOME! I love love love this place.

We had a fun dinner with CDM1 on Monday night. Today he called and we are meeting again for dinner on Friday!! How cool is that!

Whew that was a close call and Armstrong's Law

Whew...I am glad we got that behind us. Now that the worst has pasted, I have to say a few things. First of all, we all need to be very careful about what we want and what we are willing to do to get what we want. Almost two months ago I wrote a post (this is the same post that someone commented on because they thought the post was about them, talk about TOTALLY BIZARRE!! Maybe that will be a post for another day.) anyway, the post was about how some people will not be very honest with themselves or others just to get what they want. The things they want are not for the benefit of others, but for only themselves. They don't care how they get what they want or who they may hurt while getting what they want. They want the most for the least amount of effort. MSH has a theory about this, he calls it

Armstrong's Law:

Everything in nature will travel the path of least resistance to it's lowest state of potential energy...especially people.

Well now we see how the situation I was talking about has has turned out. The body has responded and it is breaking down under the stress and pressure. Thank goodness nothing too bad happened and hopefully it's a wake up call. Maybe now this person will take a step back and see that NOTHING is worth destroying your health and your body for. Maybe this person will take it easy and enjoy the things that they have been blessed with. I am hoping for the best now which is better than two months ago, when I did not have much hope for this to have a happy ending. Now I think it might be happy or at least survivable.

We had a great weekend. Except for the part where we cleaned one house and worked in two yards!! I was so tired on Saturday night, I fell into bed at 8:30pm!! Sunday we had a church in the morning and in the evening we helped out with a carnival to kick-off VBS. This is the second year in a row that MSH and I were in charge of the carnival attraction that was the most fun!! It was one of those big bouncey slide thingies. The kids love those things! And so do adults!!

Work is very quiet and I only have a few more days until I am on vacation! I am looking forward to that!
